ABOUT LINDA

Linda Smith is an Anewan woman who grew up in Nundle, Rural NSW. She has made a home off country and now lives in Newcastle NSW after stopping in Tamworth, Armidale and Sydney on the way. Linda is passionate about having real and honest conversations around mental health as she feels that these conversations saved her life.

Linda brings a world of experience in the corporate sector, working for large financial institutions for much of her career, however it was always people that drew her in. Linda has been able to take advantage of some amazing programs including School Based Traineeships and Indigenous Leadership programs. Having made her way in the corporate world, Linda’s focus is to give back to her communities, mob and those who have sacrificed to pave the way for her.

Linda is a registered ASIST, I-ASIST, safeTALK and safeYARN trainer. She is in her element when she consults and engages with communities to work with them to develop sustainable strategies to improve social and emotional wellbeing and create safety from suicide.

Linda is currently studying Financial Counselling, and exploring further study in Psychology as she continues to work in the finance industry along with Healing Works Australia.

Outside of work, Linda is passionate about Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (don’t expect an athlete though)!
